Our Innovation Initiatives
Dayton has a rich history of innovation. That hasn’t changed. We are proud to be leading the way in the area of healthcare innovation.
Together with our member hospitals, we created an approach to spur innovation and economic growth in our region by uniting the fields of medicine, engineering, and technology. These forces, previously not collaborating, came together to form Ascend Innovations in 2014. It is a for-profit collaborative venture between us, Kaleidoscope, and the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL) at Wright Patterson Air Force Base.
Ascend will create commercially viable products that will improve healthcare by design. We believe Dayton medical innovation will be ground zero for the future of healthcare, which will lead to lead to a healthier community.
