The Greater Dayton Area Hospital Association (GDAHA) is a full-service not-for-profit association whose primary focus is to ensure quality health care in our area. We are recognized by hospitals, business leaders, public officials, the media and the community as the regional resource for healthcare information. We assist our members with ensuring the quality of care, advocacy, member services, data reporting, and health information technology (HIT).
Currently, we serve 29 member hospitals and health organizations in the eleven-county greater Dayton area. Our hospitals have an $8.1 billion impact on our area’s economy and they employ 44,452 people. As you can imagine, local, state, and federal healthcare legislative activity has increased in recent years. We act as a determined advocate working to protect the interests of our members.
GDAHA was informally established in 1936 as a communication forum involving the area’s hospital leaders.
In 1979, the organization was officially incorporated as a trade organization and has continued to evolve to meet member and community needs.
Today, GDAHA is guided by each hospital’s President & CEO and supported by executives and leaders at all levels within our committee structure.
Much of our work in the Dayton region is a result of thoughtful hospital leadership. Our Board of Trustees and committees work with our staff to share common concerns and develop innovative solutions on a regional basis. With our partner organizations, we develop unique programs and services that have a positive impact on health.
Building strong relationships sets out work apart and improves our ability to find solutions that support all partners.
We have an organizational responsibility and individual obligation to make our communities better for our members and the patients they serve.
There is power in the individual voice. When we advocate as a collective, we harness our shared power on behalf of the Greater Dayton area.
We work on hard problems and by finding new solutions, we can help save lives.
Embrace change and innovation to help our members and out community succeed and grow.
GDAHA serves as a central collection point for hospital data, which is used for the analysis of trends in healthcare services and the employment market as well as furthering quality initiatives. Alongside our partners and affiliates, we also use that information to develop technology and programs to address the region’s most pressing healthcare concerns.
All are welcome. Our differences make us richer.
Remember the Golden Rule. Ask yourself how you can be of service to others.
Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good.
Sometimes our work is separate, but we don’t work in silos.
Do good work. Get it done. Find the answer or the people who have them.
