Human Trafficking Workgroup

The Greater Dayton Area Hospital Association (GDAHA) has convened a Human Trafficking Workgroup to establish a network of Human Trafficking advocates within each of our regional hospitals and formalize the use of identification and intervention best practices across the region. The workgroup has established the following goals:

  • Compete a community gap analysis of current strengths and weakness in the Dayton Region for the care and rescue of Human Trafficking victims.
  • Improve knowledge of resources within the Greater Dayton Region to serve suspected victims of human trafficking through the development of a regional healthcare workforce that will increase the knowledge base for both pre-hospital and in-hospital providers and connect them with external resources in addition to standardizing best practices across the local and state region.
  • Certify one staff member at each hospital/health system in Trauma Informed Care.
  • Formalize system policies for responding to human trafficking at each facility.
  • Create and distribute a Human Trafficking Regional tool kit to aid healthcare providers in recognizing and responding to human trafficking victims.
