Health care and emergency service providers in West Central Ohio (WCO) must be prepared to respond swiftly to public health emergencies or other events that impact the health care delivery system in our region.
To accomplish this mission, health care organizations and emergency service providers across the care continuum, have formed the West Central Ohio Healthcare Preparedness Coalition to support one another during times of need or emergency. The HCC is a collective team that supports planning, preparedness, and response efforts in coordination with emergency management and other Emergency Support Function (ESF) 8 (health and medical) partners.
GDAHA is a subrecipient of the Ohio Department of Health and the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) grant. Through GDAHA, The West Central Healthcare Preparedness Coalition works with hospitals, post-acute care agencies, other healthcare agencies, public health, first responders and other community partners within the region to improve emergency preparedness and response to natural and man-made disasters.
The Healthcare Coalition Committee meets on the second Monday of each month at 2:00 p.m. The Steering Committee meets prior to the full coalition meeting on a bi-monthly basis.
The West Central Ohio Regional Healthcare Preparedness Coalition has created and approved various preparedness and response documents.
